1st STRYKER BRIGADE COMBAT TEAM, 2nd INFANTRY DIVISION (UEx)
Unit Guidons

The US Army's Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT) is founded on the Stryker family of wheeled armored vehicles. The SBCT was designed before the advent of UEx and until recently it differed from the infantry and armored BCTs in several particulars. However, the ongoing development of the UEx modular combat brigade concept is eliminating these differences. The SBCT's brigade support battalion (BSB) has been reorganized and augmented with sufficient personnel and equipment to form forward support companies, while the brigade troops battalion has been replaced by a brigade engineer battalion (BEB). This engineer battalion has a headquarters company, two combat engineer companies plus the formerly separate signal and military intelligence companies. See here for the original configuration of the SBCT.
Guidons for companies of the Stryker infantry battalions are of the standard pattern for the Infantry branch. The cavalry squadron and the field artillery battalion also have branch-pattern guidons. The guidon of the HHC is of the standard pattern for headquarters companies of divisions. Companies of the BEB have branch-oriented guidons. The headquarters company and forward support companies of the (BSB) have buff guidons with scarlet letters and numerals but no branch insignia; the other three companies have branch-oriented guidons. Cavalry units organized as CABs use the titles "battalion" and "company," while those organized as reconnaissance, surveillance and target acquisition (RSTA) units use the titles "squadron" and "troop."
The 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team of the 2nd Infantry Division is stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McCord (Washington) under administrative control of Headquarters, 7th Infantry Division, with the primary mission of reinforcing the Eighth Army in the Republic of Korea.
Brigade Antiarmor Company: When the SBCT was reorganized to conform to the UEx standard, the antiarmor company was placed in the brigade engineer battalion. It has now been moved to the cavalry squadron as Troop D (Antiarmor).
