COMPANY & DETACHMENT GUIDONS

Notes

Guidons for companies and detachments of the US Army's combat support services (excluding those for headquarters units of groups and higher formations) follow the same pattern as those of the combat arms: a field in the first-named branch color with the branch insignia, numerals and letters in the second named branch color. Companies of separate battalions have the battalion number above the insignia and the company letter below it; separate companies have the company number below the insignia. Some exceptions to the above patterns are as follows:

Headquarters companies of support battalions have buff guidons with scarlet numerals and letters but no branch insignia; lettered companies of support battalions of divisions have branch-oriented guidons of the normal pattern. Separate support companies have buff guidons with ultramarine blue Quartermaster branch insignia and scarlet numerals. Companies of supply & service battalions have buff guidons with yellow numerals and letters but no branch insignia; separate supply & service companies have buff guidons with ultramarine blue Quartermaster branch insignia and yellow numerals. Companies of supply & transportation battalions have buff guidons with brick red numerals and letters but no branch insignia.

Companies of maintenance battalions have crimson guidons with light blue numerals and letters but no branch insignia; maintenance companies of support battalions and separate maintenance companies have crimson guidons with yellow Ordnance branch insignia and light blue numerals and letters.

Veterinary companies and detachments have maroon guidons with green Medical branch insignia and numerals.

Dimensions and materials for guidons of combat service support units are the same as for guidons of the combat arms.
