Notes

Headquarters companies (HHC) and headquarters detachments (HHD) of commands and headquarters organizations are authorized guidons. Designs are as follows:

For Headquarters Company, US Army, the guidon is white with the shoulder sleeve insignia (SSI) authorized for Headquarters, Department of the Army in proper colors centered.

For major Army commands and major subordinate and specified commands, the guidon is national flag blue with the SSI of the organization in proper colors centered. Guidons for headquarters companies of state area commands of the Army National Guard are dark blue with the SSI centered in proper colors. If necessary to provide contrast against the field of the guidon, the SSI is piped with white. Headquarters elements of Army National Guard State Area Commands have guidons of the same pattern, but dark blue.

Headquarters companies of branch-oriented numbered commands organized under a Table of Organization and Equipment (TOE) have guidons with a field in the first-named branch color and the SSI in proper colors centered. If necessary to provide contrast against the field of the guidon, the SSI is piped with white or yellow.

Headquarters companies and detachments of numbered US Army garrisons and US Army Reserve garrison support units have teal blue guidons with the branch insignia for Branch Immaterial and (for USAR GSU's) their numerical designation in yellow
