UNITED STATES ARMY

HHC 7th INFANTRY DIVISION (LIGHT)  •  DIVISION BASE UNITS

Cold War Organization  •  1988
The 7th Infantry Division headquarters and staff were supported by the division headquarters company (HHC). The HHC commander was the headquarters commandant, responsible for establishing and supporting the the division command post.
The division base units were administratively assigned to the division support command (DISCOM). Tactically, however, they were controlled by the division headquarters and so I have chosen to show them here. The air defense artillery battalion had three batteries, each with six towed 20mm Vulcan antiaircraft guns and twelve Stinger surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems. The combat engineer battalion had three motorized companies but no bridging company.
