The Division Artillery (DIVARTY) of the 35th Infantry Division consisted of a headquarters battery, three FA battalions equipped with 155mm self-propelled howitzer and one with 203mm self-propelled howitzers. Each 155mm battalion was in direct support (DS) of a maneuver brigade, while the 203mm battalion provided general support and reinforcing (GSR) fires. The target acquisition battery employed sound, flash and radar methods to locate and classify targets. The 1-127 FA, 1-161st FA and C-161 FA belonged to the Kansas ARNG, the 2-138 FA to the Kentucky ARNG and the 1-168 FA to the Nebraska ARNG.
