149th ARMORED BRIGADE, 35th INFANTRY DIVISION

The 149th Armored Brigade of the Kentucky ARNG controlled two of the 35th Infantry Division's armor battalions and one of its mechanized infantry battalions. The former were equipped with the M60A1 tank (105mm gun) and the latter was equipped with the M113 APC . Infantry and armor battalions of the Army National Guard with a NATO mission were organized under the Army of Excellence (AoE) scheme. Though not organized as such, the 149th Armored Brigade was technically a separate brigade.
