V Corps D-Day Organization • 6 June 1944

Paris, 29 August 1944. The US Army's 28th Infantry Division—the Keystone Division—marches down the Champs Élysée four days after the liberation of the city. The 28th was a National Guard division, most of whose units came from Pennsylvania—the Keystone State. The entire division, troops and vehicles, passed through Paris on the way to its next battlefield.
