The naval ensign of Israel was actually the first flag adopted by that nation, on 19 May 1948. (Israel's current national flag was adopted on 28 October 1948). In the past it was the flag of the Israeli Defense Force as a whole, but it was replaced in that role by current IDF ceremonial color in 1951. |
