CAMPAIGN STREAMERS FOR THE US ARMY FLAG

The United States Army Ceremonial Flag is displayed and carried with a set of streamers commemorating every battle and campaign fought by the Army since 1775. They are similar to the campaign streamers for Army organizational flags and colors, but dimensions are 2 3/4 inches at the hoist by 4 feet on the fly and all inscriptions include dates. For campaigns of the Civil War and after, streamers are in the colors of the ribbon of the campaign medal awarded to individuals. Streamers for the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812 and the Mexican War do not correspond to any campaign medals, since none have ever been authorized for these wars.

As of 2014 there were 189 authorized campaign streamers for the Army Ceremonial Flag. Their order of precedence is indicated by the number below each drawing in this section. An asterisk (*) denotes the streamers of the reduced set of 40 authorized for use during inclement weather or when otherwise appropriate. The same set of 40 streamers, albeit with 2 3/4inch at the hoist by 3-foot dimensions, is  authorized for the Army Display Flag.
