Parading the Colors

5 December 2018, Washington DC: The casket of the late President George H.W. Bush (Bush 41 as he was popularly known) begins its journey from the United States Capitol, where he lay in state, to the National Cathedral for his state funeral, under the escort of a joint honor guard of the United States Armed Forces. The late president is preceded by the National Color; the Positional Color of the President of the United States is carried behind. The commander of the honor guard, in this case a Navy captain, remains close to the casket at all times as it is moved from place to place.
At the moment captured here, the honor guard presents arms as the band renders presidential honors: four ruffles and flourishes followed by "Hail to the Chief."
