KINGDOM OF PRUSSIA
COLORS OF MUSKETEER REGIMENTS 1740-1806
Note: Included on this page are the colors of the Guard units. The Grenadier Guard Battalion (Nr. 6) originated as the Giant Grenadiers of King Frederick William I and its colors bore his royal cyphers rather than that of his son Frederick II. The Leibgarde (Nr. 15) was three battalions strong. The companies of the 1st Battalion carried the Leibfahne; those of the 2nd and 3rd Battalions carried Regimentsfahnen.Note on the Music: "Grenadiers of Fridericus Rex" (open in new tab) was written in the nineteenth century in commemoration of the army of Frederick the Great.Images Added July 2017Musketeer Regiments Nrs. 27 & 30
