The Combat Aviation Brigade of the 34th Infantry Division has two aviation attack/reconnaissance battalions, an aviation general support battalion, an aviation assault battalion and an aviation support battalion. The attack/reconnaissance aviation battalions are equipped with AH-64 attack helicopters and RQ-7 reconnaissance drones. The security and support aviation battalion is equipped with UH-72A utility helicopters. The general support aviation battalion is equipped with UH-60 (command group support), CH-47 (heavy lift) and HH-60 (medical evacuation) helicopters. The aviation assault battalion conducts airmobile operations with UH-60 helicopters. The flying units are supported by air traffic suppot, maintenance and forward support companies organic to the battalions, backed up by an aviation support battalion.
