Unit Guidons

Though it is organized as an armored brigade combat team, the 278th Cavalry Regiment retains its regimental designations and all subordinate squadrons and troops bear cavalry-pattern guidons. The troops of the four numbered squadrons are lettered A through N, with J being skipped. The troops of the named squadrons are independently lettered and their guidons have a monogram in place of a squadron number, e.g. S for the Support Squadron. All elements of the regiment belong to to the Tennessee Army National Guard except for the 3rd Squadron, which belongs to the Texas ARNG.
