43rd INFANTRY BRIGADE, 26th INFANTRY DIVISION
Cold War Organization  •  1988

The 43rd Infantry Brigade of the Connecticut ARNG controlled three of the 26th Infantry Division's eight assigned infantry battalions. (The other five fell under the 3rd Brigade, 26th Infantry Division, Massachusetts ARNG.) Though not organized as such, the 43rd Infantry Brigade was technically a separate brigade and it perpetuated the lineage and honors of the 43rd Infantry Division.

Infantry battalions of the Army National Guard were mostly organized under the Army of Excellence (AoE) scheme with a headquarters company, three lettered rifle companies and a combat support (CS) company.
