The Division Artillery (DIVARTY) of the 26th Infantry Division consisted of a headquarters battery, one FA battalion equipped with 155mm self-propelled howitzers, two with 155mm towed howitzers and one with 203mm self-propelled howitzers. Each 155mm battalion was in direct support (DS) of a maneuver brigade, while the 203mm battalion provided general support and reinforcing (GSR) fires. The target acquisition battery employed sound, flash and radar methods to locate and classify targets. The 1-101 FA, 1-211 FA and E-101 FA belonged to the Massachusetts ARNG, the 1-86 FA to the Vermont ARNG and the 2-192 FA to the Connecticut ARNG.
