UNITED STATES ARMY
14th MILITARY POLICE BRIGADE
Cold War Organization • 1988
The 14th Military Police Brigade controlled the MP assets of US VII Corps in the Federal Republic of Germany. Its two battalions had no organic subordinate units of their own. Rather, they were flexible headquarters to which a variable number of separate numbered MP companies could be assigned according to need. Two other companies, the 95th and 97th, came directly under the brigade headquarters. The MP combat mission embraced rear-area, headquarters and convoy security, traffic management, control of POWs, and general enforcement of military law and discipline in the field. Combat MP units were trained and equipped similarly to light infantry units.
