The 3rd Brigade of the 7th Infantry Division had three light infantry battalions, each with a headquarters and headquarters company, three rifle companies and an antiarmor company with HMMWV-mounted TOW missiles. The HQ company of the light infantry battalion included a reconnaissance platoon and a mortar platoon with 81mm mortars.
