UNITED STATES ARMY
1st STRYKER BRIGADE COMBAT TEAM, 25th INFANTRY DIVISION
PRE-UEx ORGANIZATION
The US Army's Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT) was founded on the Stryker family of wheeled armored vehicles. The SBCT was designed before the advent of UEx and differed from the 2006-14 infantry and heavy BCTs in several particulars. The SBCT had three maneuver battalions, each with a headquarters company and three mechanized infantry companies (A, B, C). The brigade troops battalion (BTB) consisted of the brigade headquarters company (HHC) plus separate antiarmor, combat engineer and military intelligence companies. The FA battalion had three firing batteries, while the brigade support battalion (BSB) had no forward support companies.Guidons for companies of the Stryker infantry battalions were of the standard pattern for the Infantry branch. The cavalry squadron and the field artillery battalion also had branch-pattern guidons. The guidon of the HHC was of the standard pattern for headquarters companies of brigades organic to infantry divisions; the other BTB companies had branch-oriented guidons. The headquarters company of the brigade support battalion (BSB) had a buff guidon with scarlet letters and numerals but no branch insignia; the other three companies have branch-oriented guidons. The Organizational Flag of the brigade was always carried or displayed with the National Color. Both were made of heavyweight rayon banner cloth, 3 feet at the hoist by 4 feet on the fly, with 2 1/2-inch yellow fringe. The 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team ("Arctic Wolves") of the 25th Infantry Division had an organizational flag and guidon of the standard pattern for infantry brigades of divisions.
