COMBAT COMMAND C, 3rd ARMORED DIVISION Cold War Organization  •  1960

In 1960 Combat Command C (CCC) of the 3rd Armored Division had one medium tank battalion (M48 Patton tanks armed with a 90mm gun) and one armored rifle (infantry) battalion These units were not organic to CCC, which like the division's other two combat commands could be task organized with any mix of units deemed necessary. A typical task organization might consist of the units shown below plus one of the division's 105mm self-propelled field artillery battalion and a company of the division's combat engineer battalion.
