The 2nd Brigade of the 24th Infantry Division was an armor-heavy formation with two armor battalions and one mechanized infantry battalion. The armor battalions were equipped with the M1 tank (105mm gun), the mechanized infantry battalions were equipped with the M2 IFV (25mm gun and TOW antitank missiles).
