A 155mm GPF gun of the US Army Coast Artillery Corps on a revolving "Panama" mounting, so called because it was designed originally for the coastal defenses of the Panama Canal Zone. The gun was fixed to the mounting, and could be traversed 360 degrees. GPFs assigned to harbor defense units were usually grouped in batteries of four guns.
